After months of my husband telling me I should write a blog, being inspired by an old friend, sparrow hopes, and a recent movie, I decided to give it a try. I want it to be a place where I can get my ideas for homemade/semi-homemade recipes, my poetry/writing, ideas for the house, crafts and fun things to do with children. I am hoping for ideas from others as well. I have been inspired and hope to also inspire.
As a simple start, I decided to make my favorite hot chocolate, Peppermint. I sometimes make it with nesquik and milk, or from scratch but if I am in a time crunch and just have to have it now, I use hot chocolate packets, hot water and a candy cane.
I start by heating up the chocolate in a pan with water, 1-2 packets depending how chocolatey I feel. Stirring frequently. In my mug of choice I place some mini marshmallow and a peppermint candy cane. Once the hot cocoa reaches the point where it is about to boil, I ladle it into my mug and stir with the candy cane. Then I sit back and enjoy the peppermint chocolatey goodness.
